From the Benghazi lies and disturbing cover up, to the IRS targeting of conservative groups, to Justice Department phone taps used to secretly record Associated Press news reporters, the Obama administration is becoming more corrupt and representative of a Soviet style government every day.
Just as most of the media ignored the murder trial of Philadelphia abortionist and live baby butcher Kermit Gosnell, they likewise did everything possible to avoid serious reporting about the Obama administration ignoring its responsibility to first protect, then second to rescue Americans working at the US Consulate & the CIA annex in Benghazi.
As accessories after the fact, the same apologists refused to question their Messiah even after it became apparent the Benghazi narrative was beginning to reek.
But now cracks are appearing in the wall of silence. One of the most significant is Maureen Dowd’s New York Times op-ed column When Myths Collide in the Capitol.
As Ms. Dowd opined about the Libyan disaster, “Yet in this hottest of hot spots, the State Department’s minimum security requirements were not met, requests for more security were rejected, and contingency plans were not drawn up, despite the portentous date of 9/11 and cascading warnings from the C.I.A., . . .”
Dowd’s commentary included Hillary Clinton’s culpability in the fiasco – “Looking ahead to 2016, Hillaryland needed to shore up the mythology that Clinton was a stellar Secretary of State.”
Mythology indeed.
Thanks to ABC newsman Jonathan Karl it is on the record that the White House Benghazi talking points were rewritten 11 times to eliminate that which did not fit the administration narrative. That included any mention of Al Qaeda and Ansar al-Sharia, a Libyan militant group.
ABC news has obtained copies of all rewrites.
From the gales of Benghazi to the rough seas of the IRS scandal, Emperor Obama has never experienced press scrutiny like I suspect he’s about to. May his Teflon peel quickly.
Despite recent IRS denials, and former commissioner Douglas Sherman’s claim that his agency did not specifically target any group based on political affiliation or belief, the IRS has issued an apology for doing precisely what it previously denied engaging in – the contemptible decision to target and intimidate conservatives.
Cleta Mitchell, a highly regarded Washington election attorney, today claimed she has proof that top IRS officials knew their agency was red flagging conservative groups for greater scrutiny. What makes this a no brainer is the absence of any liberals on the list. Mitchell believes the President knew of the campaign against conservatives suggesting, if proven, it would be an impeachable offense.
Larry Conners, a veteran news anchor at KMOV Channel 4 in St. Louis, believes the Internal Revenue Service targeted him after he interviewed President Obama in April 2012. Conners says his interview included questions on the economy and spending. He claims the IRS began “pressuring” him soon after.
Lies, cover ups and White House denials. It’s beginning to look like a pattern.
To round out the triple play, Eric Holder’s Justice Department secretly set up phone taps and seized the records for twenty telephone lines used by up to 100 Associated Press news reporters in April and May, 2012. AP called this a “massive and unprecedented intrusion” of a news organization. WABC talk host Mark Levin called it “government tyranny”.
These are increasingly threatening times for freedom in America. Comrade Obama will survive in power only as long as a compliant press protects him. The more he makes them look like fools, the more inclined they should be to publicize his cover ups, lies and scandals.
